How did you achieve your goals? What did you do?

To achieve the above objectives we have been divided our activities into different part of presenters include presenter in drug manufacturing, drug analysis, use of medicine plants, rational use of drugs, measurement of body mass index and glucose as well as the activities and the achievements of Rwanda Pharmaceutical Students’ Association. Before the participation of our members in the exhibition there was one month in preparation of that exhibition to revise the activities or presentation will be used, approaching our lectures to show us the manipulation of some materials or machines in the laboratory. We were also collected different materials to different areas and designing the posters and leaflets will be used for good participation in that event.

What kind of material did you use?

We have used some laboratory materials of the department of Pharmacy, final drugs, natural plants with therapeutic effects, machines from the Continental Pharmacy in Kigali. We have used leaflets, posters and burners for marketing of activities.

Results:

How did it go? Did you evaluate the activity?

The participation in that exhibition was very successful; our student’s participants have improved the practice to the gained theory in their class respectively and it was the only opportunity to show the university community the activities or what we are doing in Pharmacy in the achievements of the government policy and it was also the opportunity to encourage the pharmacy students in basics years of studying to enjoy their study as they have seen the practice of the lessons they are studying in their every day study. It was also the opportunity to show the Rwandan stakeholders and the university leaders that the department of Pharmacy will contribute to the development of our country. After the evaluation of our presented activities we are planning to start an education project in the National University of Rwanda on the Rational use of Drugs and conference on traditional medicine because many participants have been interested in that project and now students are continuing to come to ask us the information on the use of some drugs and the role and the use of medicine plants in the treatment of some drugs.

What did you gain? Did you get feedback from participants, audience or other contacts?

Our stand have been visited by many people who have came in the exhibition including university leaders, lectures, University administration, all the guest honours who came in the exhibition have visited the stand of Pharmacy students (AEPHAR) and all the guest honours who came in the date of career day have visited our stand with the Ministry of labours. Advertisement of the activity:

During the exhibition we have been used the posters and leaflets to market our activities and burner on the entrance of our stand to show all the visitors of exhibition where Pharmacy students are presenting.

Comments and/or ideas arising from the activity:

The participation in that event was very interesting but the financial support was not sufficient because our stand was in the first stands where many people was interested to visit means that our presenters have talked very much because of many visitors who passed in our stand that is why presenters needed to get water and juice in order to refresh the body for receiving and explain very well all the visitors in our stand.

The event has not been visited by many people from out of University. So, as recommendation we recommend the organizers of the exhibition to market it very well and to try to support the participants in order to improve they activities.
